Playing possum

This is soooo funny. Naddie plays possum (dead, but that just sounds too yuck) when you are about to get her. See the proof........

A little "science" here for you:

Possums are famous for "playing dead" when threatened, but this isn't quite accurate. They are not "playing" dead at all: the possum goes into shock when particularly stressed. While not dead, it can be found lying on its side with its legs extended and is, in fact, limp and unconscious during this time, like a person who has fainted.
While playing dead discourages predators from chasing the possum, it also makes them vulnerable. When drivers see the limp possum in the road, they don't bother to swerve, since they assume it's already dead. There are also accounts of people shooting the comatose possum in order to "put it out of its misery." There is such a thing as overplaying a part
.

we've got a winner!!!!!!!

I just found a new tooth in Naddies mouth today! It is a molar tooth!
I can not believe it just sneaked in like that!
I was playing with her and had her head in my lap, when she started laughing hard and opened her mouth wide. That's when I realized something has changed in that little mouth.
So, now she has two teeth on the bottom, four on the top and one molar on the top left. I also think she actually has two more coming.

Take me out to the plyaground~~~~~~~~~~

Naddie loves the playground. If she could she would spend all her days out there going from one fun thing to the next. We also talked her gramps into joining us this past weekend. We sure showed him a good time.

Exploring the whole wide world and we will start in the kitchen

We were at Mother’s market the other day getting some fun grocery items for Naddie in the baby isle when two women directed their attention to Naddie as we passed them by. They were also shopping baby stuff but did not have their babies with them. Naddie as always smiled at them and waived at them and finally blew a kiss to each of them.
Of course they were uh-ah about it but one of them said something I think we all feel but might not admit to. She said: “Oh, I can not wait for mine to start doing things like that. She is only 7 months right now though.”
I had to reply to that with: “I know what you mean, but all this new and cute stuff comes with other new and sometimes frustrating things. Enjoy every stage she will go through!” And than we walked a way.
I used to feel that way. I don’t anymore. I learned that I have to enjoy the NOW because nobody can turn the time back when I realize that all that “other” time was just as wonderful and enjoyable. I already miss some stages we have passed. I do think they are equally wonderful and difficult at the same time. I think it’s all up to how you look at it and what you make of it.
Naddie is just becoming such an individual little being. She is studying everything around her. She is becoming very independent in many ways.
She will take the spoon or fork from me while eating (sometimes even feeds me), she tells me when she had enough of anything (she is really good of using her sign language skills), she likes to brush her teeth by herself, she will bring me her shoes to put them on or give her clean diaper to change and she loves to guide you to the kitchen cabinet to show you what she wants to snack on. And I could go on, but I am sure you get the picture.
Of course this brings some frustration, because she does not like if I don’t let her be as self-sufficient as she wants to be.

Hello Kitty Video

So the story behind the whole "Hello Kitty" theme is that Naddie at this moment calls every moving animal a "cica" (kitty in hungarian). And of course this character is pretty darn cute!

‘cause I’m a big girl now

Here it is. The long awaited forward facing car seat. Naddie got this from her “nagyi” (for those who don’t speak Hungarian it is her grandma) for her birthday/Christmas.
I did extensive research on this peace of item and finally bought it last week.
Naddie absolutely loves the fact that she can now see everything and what the most important is that she can keep her eyes on us!

New Year, New Chapter & New Blogger

I thought as we have stepped into the new year and Naddie's second year I change her blog layout. Hope you like it. (Tough if not)
Naddie had her one year "well child check up" two days ago and she also had to get some shots. She did great though she screamed when this little old Russian lady took some blood from her. We walked into the lab and found this sweet and smiley nurse. It took us only a few minutes to figure out that she was Nurse "Cruella de Vile". She was all about pain and chop-chop let's get this done.
I felt so bad for my little girl. Here she is sitting in my lap held by me and this monster woman and poor thing is just crying her eyes out. It normally takes two other people and me to do this whole ordeal, but this time we only had Mrs. Nightmare.
I think she scarred Naddie for life.Well, maybe not but the memory is too vivid right now.
So, Naddie is still a bit on the small size. She is 20pounds and 4oz. She is very long though. 28 3/4". She is very close to walking and according to her Dr. she is developing ahead of her age.
Her next check up is not for another six month and let's hope we will never see Nurse de Vile again!
