Blanket

I have been searching for a replacement of Naddie's blanket in case something should ever happen to the one that rules her world now. After so many months of searching I have almost given up and started looking at new solutions to the problem.....that is until a week ago. I decided to email the company and see if they had any left in their "warehouse", somewhere tucked away, and if I could buy that lonely blanket and provide a good home to it. Much to my surprise I got an email back that day, from Kristin, who made a deal with me. You want to find out what kind of a deal? So, I will give a shout out to my new Heroes: THANK YOU LE TOP & RABBIT MOON!!!

Larger than life

So, we are in the midst of potty & culinary training, singer & song writer in a making and last but not least a future sergeant getting educated about the lovely world of open “bubus” and bleeding “owies”.
Bug is no longer a baby. Only for those couple of minutes each night where she asks me to hold her like a baby and rock her back and forth. Just like the way she rocks her baby when she is putting her to sleep.
She is not a baby any more. She is a little human being. She sings songs now. She reads story books to us at night. She bakes muffins on days like Sunday. She asks for walks and for hugs. She tells us she loves us, and tells ME to stop. She makes friends with strange little girls and joins the game they want to play.
She is not a baby anymore. She is one little bug who is not afraid of running into the Ocean on a gloomy day. She is not afraid to pick her nose in public and will search anyone’s for “buggas”.
She is just not a baby anymore.

Will was playing this game of Q & A with Bug.

He was asking her to answer his questions and show the body parts.

"W: What do you use to hear?

BB: Eerz!

W: What do you use to see?

BB: Eyz!

W What do you use to talk?

BB: Phone!!!"

Hmm... maybe too much "talking on the phone"?

Dentist visit and other delightful events

On Friday I took Baby Bug to the dentist. It was her first real visit and I was really nervous about the whole experience.
There is nothing wrong with her teeth I just needed to make sure of that and maybe have a little cleaning done.
I am going to say this and say it now: I WAS SOOO VERY PROUD OF HER!!!
She did great! No, she did amazing! When we got there she put her little shy personality on, but as soon as she saw that there was a train track in the waiting room with tons of trains and cars she just knew this could be nothing less, but fun.
All the rooms were painted Hawaiian style and had some sort of theme. Bug choose the one with the turtles, the ocean and some really fun TIKI figures.
The dentist was really friendly and helpful. She explained everything to Bug and asked her if it would be all right with her if she took a look at her teeth. She just nodded no and opened her mouth wide. Here is where I just wanted give her a big hug but I just set up strait with my head up high, because I was SOO PROUD OF HER! She set there for about 10-15 minutes with her mouth open and just let the dentist clean some of her teeth. After all the “torture” she choose some stickers and prices to take home along with a pink balloon. This weekend we also visited the Long Beach aquarium again (the first time for Will) and had a blast. This time Ms. N really enjoyed looking at the fish and even tried to touch some of them at the patting pools. She had soo much fun that she was telling one of her friends about the trip on a “pretend” phone call.

This is our recent conversation while lying on our bed:

“Me: You have to take a nap so that we can go to G’s & Lisa’s house when you get up.
Bug: No! No nap!
Me: I am now taking you in your room to sleep!
Bug: No! No mama!
Me: You HAVE to sleep baby!
Bug: Mama! No! STOP! Stop talking!”

Did I mention? I told her about a month ago, that instead of whining or crying when she is getting frustrated, she just needs to tell whoever is making her feel that way to: STOP! While holding her index finger up!
She is now using it on me. At least she is a fast learner.
