Bananas, Apples and all others.....

Here we go! We officially gave "solid" (we mean pureed food) to her.

At first she did not like the new taste. The more we were giving the more she enjoyed. She really wanted to play with the spoon, so most of the food ended up in her hand and than her whole fist in her mouth. I had to laugh hard, seeing the expression on her face. Will reminded me though that she needs guidance to understand what to do and reassurance that she is doing "this new thing" right! The second time around she did great!

So now she is eating apple and banana food. I am giving her organic baby food from the store for now but as soon as we get to California I will be making some home made goodies.

Someday - and that day may never come - I'll call upon you to do a service for me.

Whoever thought of sunglasses for babies? GENIUS!

Look at the expression on her face!

How about them apple juices?

I had a dream last night. I dreamt that Naddie was eating solid food and slept through the night. It is my mind playing mean games with me. I woke up with a happy smile and than realized it was all just in my mind.

We are now trying rice cereal and apple juice that's all. Naddie is not a picky eater and has never been. If she is hungry it don't matter where it comes from what shape or size, cold or hot. She just wants to have it RIGHT NOW!! She loves nursing and if she could she would be plugged in all night. She is starting to watch me eat and reaches for the glass of milk I have in the morning!

She also just got a great little walker (see picture) and she absolutely loves it! (Thanks Kara)

She either gets upset at the bears because she can not reach them with both hands to pull them closer to her mouth or she gets upset at me because I take her out of the walker when she seems to be tired. Either way we all get the look & attitude. She can already push herself backwards, so if she starts at one end of the room a few minutes later you will find her on the other end. She almost gave me a heart attack when I looked to see how she was doing and bum... she was gone. She is not even mobile yet!!!

She also loves music and dancing. She has the biggest smile on her face when Will & I dance with her to some Jack Johnson or some 80's song.

Tummy Time

Our days in day care are numbered. Well, our days here in Washington/Oregon are numbered. It is not count down just yet, but getting there slowly but surely.

So our days at the day care center are numbered. I am just so glad. Not that we don't like it! Don't take me wrong. It is just all the snot nosed, coughing & ear infected little "monsters" ( and I mean that with lots of love) who surround Naddie on the daily basis. She is constantly open to all and every germ you can think of. Not fun! It was not a problem in the beginning since she was more of a "blah" and she did not participate in games nor had she ever touched the toys really. Now that her world is opening up to more social times she welcomes all the shared goodies that can make her sick.

I really like day care as I already mentioned. She seems to learn a lot each day and her development is closely monitored.

I have mentioned yesterday to Ms. Jamie that she really does not care for tummy time and because of it she is not rolling over just yet. ( I know that all kids develop differently and just because she is 4 months old it does not mean she should be rolling over)

Ms. Jamie decided to put her on the floor, surround her with lots of toys and put one of her little classmates right by her (who is 12 days older and twice the size of Naddie). There I was standing absolutely stunned and speechless. She was having so much fun trying to reach the toys while she was smiling and talking a way ON HER TUMMY!!! I guess these "mini humans" encourage each other and teach one another. What if there was a place you could rent one? I thought Craig's List would be the best place for the listings. I can see the title: " BABIES OF ANY AGE FOR PLAY DATES BY THE HOUR"

Then and now

So here we go..... The past four months has been quite amazing. Well, actually the last six months of the pregnancy too. Nadine Margrete Wood (Naddie) was born on December 22Nd of 2006 at 12:21 AM. She decided to surprise us and grant our wish for the tax break so she came two weeks early on a Friday morning. Let me just say she was in a hurry to see the world and beyond. She was 6 pounds 4 ounces and 21 inches. I gave birth to a banana baby! Let's fast forward......... She is now 4 months and 1 week old. She is changing just a little bit every day or maybe even every hour. Her personality reminds me of Will more and more. I often think she also looks more like Will than I. She is definitely daddy's little girl. I stayed home for two and a half months with her but had to go back to work and now she is in day care while Will and I are working. She loves both her caregivers Ms. Summer & Ms. Jamie and just lights up when she sees all the colorful toys the room has to offer. Up until a week ago she had no problem letting me go. She couldn't care less if I was there or if I left. Now, well now is another story. When we get there and I try to put her down to play or what have you she gets upset starts crying and wants me to pick her up and just hug. Oh, because that's something new she just learned this past week. She now can tell with her hands that she wants to be picked up ( and she expects you to do so if she does the work to let you know) and learned how to hug! I know, I know! Isn't that cute?? Well, not when you are running late to work and all you want to do is hug her anyways!! She is in the cutest phase! She found her legs and loves holding on to both while she is laying down on her back and sometimes likes to chew on them. She also found her left thumb and has a "gyongyom" (which is Hungarian for blanky) thing going on like I did when I was her age. She holds on to this big blanket that's about four times the size of hers while she has "The" thumb in her mouth. She also lets some laughs out but very rarely and mostly when Will is entertaining her. She eats a lot and some more! I can hardly keep up with her. I am not sure where all that food goes...oh wait! Of course I do! Just look at our blog's name and it will all make sense!
